I’m so glad one of my awesome photographer friends (Clara) referred Michael and Eliane to me. I am so excited for their wedding this year! Hearing about their love story, and how he proposed was so sweet, and sounded beautiful (on a bridge in Quebec City!). For their engagement session, we headed to Hermitage Park (one of my favorites in Edmonton, for its versatility and it’s absolutely beautiful in the fall if you explore the area!). I was shocked at how tall and lush the bushes and trees were at the park that year! We had like 54 days of rain over the summer of 2019, which had a huge impact on the greenery outdoors. The gray/purple looking bushes Eliane and Michael are sitting in towards the end of the session are normally only about mid torso high (when sitting!) in the past few years, but in 2019 they were hip level standing up. I have never seen them grow this tall, and it was a really cool thing to see!
Mid way through their session when we were in a little valley, we heard a trembling and rushing noise coming towards us. Once I realized what it was I had Michael and Eliane pose as the massive herd of geese flew above us. They took off at the top of the valley and it was such an interested sound! A little terrifying, but it made for an awesome photo with the birds flying above them lol!
