I may be in a small minority group of photographers with this opinion here, but I actually love doing extended family photos! There is just something about the idea of getting everyone together to document where everyone is at in their lives during that time, and actually being able to get together physically to do those photos is so special. It’s a great opportunity to get photos as a family together, with each individual family also getting some beautiful photos of themselves out of it. It’s also so fun to capture the personalities of each family member, and to be able to grab those essential photos of grandma with all the grandchildren and grandpa with all the grandchildren. As well as a great excuse for the moms and dads of the groups to just have a nice photo of the two of them together, because we all know they aren’t celebrated enough as a couple once they have those kiddos. If you can swing getting everyone together on a beautiful day, get those photos done. They will be treasured for many years to come by each family member!
